Crafts: Preserve family history in a heritage scrapbook

Preserving family history in a beautifully¬ designed album takes time and patience, but simple steps add up to a treasure well worth the effort.

Title Page
CREATING A TITLE PAGE: I placed a torn strip of striped paper on the left side of a 12x12 piece of green cardstock, then added two strips of ribbon at the top of the page. I centered a clock die cut on the ribbons, and used die cut letters in the middle of the page for a title. Flowers with brad centers, placed overlapping in the bottom corners, complete the page.
Second Page
CREATIVE LAYERING: On the next page, I put paper borders at the top and right of the background paper, then placed photos at the top with photo anchors, and added a label punch. I used gems for the centers of the flower rub-on, and added lace, topped with stitched ribbon. I typed the journaling on white paper, and made the titles from rub-on letters.
First Page
ADDING INTEREST: For the first page, I matted a 5x7 photo and put it on a larger mat, leaving room for two rub-on titles. I used eyelets on the photo for interest, and put a die cut key on a tag with a ribbon bow. At the bottom, I topped another mat with vellum, on which I typed my journaling, and I used rub-on stitching around the edges.
