Breakfast Biscuits Recipe
• 2 cups flour
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 1⁄2 cup cooked, chopped ham
• 1⁄4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
• 3 tablespoons shortening, cold
• 3⁄4 cup milk
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Sift flour and baking powder into a large bowl. Whisk to blend. Stir in ham and cheese.
With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Using a fork, stir in milk, and gather into a ball.
Drop dough by large spoonfuls (about 1⁄4 cup) onto ungreased baking sheets, an inch apart, or into lightly greased muffin tins.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until tops are golden.
