Fiat's first agricultural tractor was presented to the civil and military authorities of Turin in 1918 and marketed the following year by the Federation of Agricultural Consortia. This book uses original photographic documentation to illustrate the origins and development of the company's agricultural products, tackling the technical and human aspects of a story that has seen the introduction of more than 500 models since 1918. This is the first comprehensive study of the Turin-based firm's history in the agricultural sector. This updated edition includes all the New Holland new series presented from 2008 up to 2011.

Beautiful Tractors presents a fabulous variety of the world's most magnificent agricultural machines, each primed, polished and gleaming in all its robust glory. Stylishly lit against a studio backdrop, these superb photographs of vintage and modern masterpieces make for an impressive lineup of engineering prowess. Each photograph is accompanied by a directory, offering information on the machine's history, production, distribution, use and, of course, size. From the elegant early Titan (1915, and oddly reminiscent of Stephenson's Rocket) to the classic "big red tractor" looks of the prosaically named Allis-Chalmers "Model U" (1930), there's plenty here to stir the senses, whether you're a bona fide petrol head or merely nostalgic for a simpler world in which a straightforward piece of farm machinery could also be a feast for the eye.

How to Restore Tractor Magnetos is the essential guide to farm tractor electrical systems and offers the tractor restorer all the information needed to restore, repair and diagnose magnetos. Authored by the late Neil Yerigan, who was a master of working with vintage electronics, the book comprehensively covers how magnetos function as well as how to troubleshoot and repair common problems. The fine art of nondestructive disassembly is covered in detail and is a key ingredient to keeping your magneto (and your tractor) happy and running.

Now back in print, How to Restore Tractor Magnetos includes sections on the most common magnetos, including those made by Wico, American Bosch, International Harvester, Fairbanks-Morse, Case, Eisemann and more. Also included are voltage regulator field repair and testing, electric starter motors, and wiring advice. Yerigan augments the book's technical detail with anecdotes about the trials and tribulations of day-to-day life in his state-of-the-art (for 1936) south Minneapolis electrical repair shop.

Compact Utility Tractors, or CUTs, are cute little cutters! As farming became more refined so did the needs of tractors. The answer was a smaller, more maneuverable and fuel-efficient tractor with a variety of implements and attachments. With this focus on special needs, attachments became available such as plows, disc harrows, mower decks, cultivators, spreaders, snowblowers, and more. They have become a necessary utility for farmers, orchards, small construction jobs, and landscaping/maintenance for estates, parks and golf courses. At the forefront of this evolution was the Farmall Cub and John Deere Model L. Then came the Japanese invasion; a new kind of tractor by companies such as Yanmar and Kubota. These four-wheel drive machines were rugged and tough and used a variety of hydraulically powered attachments. American companies like John Deere, International Harvester, and Massey Ferguson built their own their own four-wheel versions. Today's compact tractors, such as the Kubota BX series, Massey Ferguson's GC series, and the John Deere 3000, offer an even larger selection of implements for special purposes.

A vintage Case steamer or Fairbanks-Morse engine is hard to beat, but old iron collectors know that it's the hunt, finding and recovering that steamer or engine in the face of impossible odds, that's at the heart of the hobby.

From a rare Allis-Chalmers 6-12 tractor cut out of a hedgerow in Texas to a Case steamer pulled from a Kansas river and a huge Stickney gas engine pulled from a watery grave in Idaho, Great Finds: Tales of Hunting Old Iron, shares two dozen stories of tractors and engines found - and recovered - despite incredible obstacles.

And the finding isn't always out in the wild, because sometimes the only way to "find" a piece of old iron is to make it yourself, like the replica 1892 Froelich tractor and 1916 Nilson tractor made by enthusiasts on opposite sides of the country. And none of it happens without the help and support of the old iron community, as Great Finds highlights in stories about vintage equipment found and restored thanks to the help of other collectors.

Nearly 100-pages are filled with great stories and pictures of finds, rescues and rebuilds of collector tractors, engines, steamers and more. More than 20 stories are included in this special collectors edition from Farm Collector.
