Pam Tinnin and her husband Zack raise organic produce and Barbados Blackbelly sheep on 106 mountain acres 80 miles north of San Francisco. The ranch is rocky and steep with trees, mostly a variety of oaks and a few pines. It also has olive, persimmon, pear, peach, apple, fig, Italian prune, pomegranate, almond, and walnut trees, plus about a dozen different kinds of grape vines. "Since 1981, we've tried a variety of sustainable farming projects,” said Pam. “Nine years ago we started raising organic produce. Our mission is to produce healthy food and make it affordable and accessible for as many people as possible." Besides their twice weekly deliveries to private customers and several restaurants, the Tinnins are happy they can share the bounty free with street people and the homeless. "We believe everyone should be able to eat healthy food," said Pam.
