This is my favorite mask for hydrating extra-dry skin. It combines two super ingredients that make excellent facial masks by themselves — honey and avocado. Honey is a natural humectant that keeps your skin full of moisture. Avocados are full of natural oils and protein, both beneficial to your complexion. Whenever my skin looks extremely dry and I can actually see dry patches in the mirror, I use this recipe. After just one application, my skin is visibly softer and smoother.
- 1/2 fresh avocado
- 1 teaspoon pure honey
- Place the avocado in a small bowl, and mash well. (You should have about 1/3 cup.)
- Add the honey, and mix until smooth and creamy.
Note: For extra-dry skin, leave the mask on overnight. To avoid ruining good bed linens, use an old pillowcase, or cover yours with a light cotton towel. Store any leftover mask in the refrigerator. To keep the mask from darkening in color, store the avocado pit inside the container, and cover tightly with plastic wrap.
