A quick and easy recipe for banana bread.
With or without walnuts, this banana bread is moist and delicious.
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup mashed bananas
4 tablespoons sour cream
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cream sugar and shortening together; add eggs. Stir in mashed bananas and sour cream.
Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together; add to banana mixture. Stir in nuts, if desired.
Pour into a greased loaf pan and let stand for 15 to 20 minutes. Bake at 375°F. for 1 hour.
