Homemade Candy is a Holiday Must
Homemade candy and handmade ornaments make special gifts for the Christmas holiday.
In our house, candy making delights everyone. I love to make fudge, French style, and I do it the easy way, using a double boiler. In addition, I make chocolate-covered cherries, peanut brittle, peanut butter balls, caramels and date balls.
I also like to make gingerbread houses. I mix the dough and press it into the molds. After removing the pieces from the molds, I glue the sides together and let it dry for what seems like forever. Then it’s time to glue the roof on and let it dry again. Finally, the real fun starts as it’s time to decorate! Using an assortment of candies, just use your imagination to create a great gingerbread house.
