Homemade Caramel Apples Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Chopped nuts

Directions

  • Remove stems from apples, and insert a wooden candy stick in each, where stem was. Place in refrigerator to chill.
  • Combine sugar, corn syrup, cream and butter in a saucepan. Cook over low heat until sugar dissolves, then increase heat and continue cooking, without stirring, until mixture reaches 260 F on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla.
  • Dip apples in melted caramel, and then roll in nuts. Place on squares of parchment paper to cool.Every good party needs a nice spread. Use this and our other Festive Halloween Party Snacks at your next big gathering to impress your guests!
