Ingredients
- 6 medium apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup dark corn syrup
- 1 cup light cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Chopped nuts
Directions
- Remove stems from apples, and insert a wooden candy stick in each, where stem was. Place in refrigerator to chill.
- Combine sugar, corn syrup, cream and butter in a saucepan. Cook over low heat until sugar dissolves, then increase heat and continue cooking, without stirring, until mixture reaches 260 F on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla.
