The creation I dream about isn’t something new, but instead would be a remarkable change – or perhaps upgrade is a better word – in transportation vehicles that have been around for many years.
I would start upgrading cars first, then airplanes, and then move on to other types of public transportation.
The reason for a change to solar vehicles
I have many friends and relatives living hundreds or thousands of miles away. Some are in other states, while others are in foreign countries.
I love traveling to see these people, and I would love to see them more often, but because of the expense of such trips, it’s just not something I can afford to do.
Alternative fuels
The cost of gasoline for vehicles is expensive, and the price of airline tickets has increased over the years – due to the rising cost of fuel, I’m sure. Because of these expenses, traveling – especially longer distances – is difficult for most of us.
My invention would be a solar hood for solar cars and trucks that would absorb the sun’s heat and transfer it to a battery that powers the vehicle. As for solar airplanes, the heat would be absorbed through the wings as fuel. Between these two upgrades, I would be able to zip around the world to see anybody, anywhere, anytime I wanted.
I know there are solar panels now that supply some of the energy to run vehicles, but they’re not the only source of power, and they don’t come as standard equipment in automobiles like mine. I want no other source of fuel than the sun’s rays.
I can’t afford an airplane, and I’m not a pilot, but as long as I’m dreaming, I won’t think realistically. I could own my own solar airplane, and it would be up to me whether to drive or fly to my destination of choice on any given day.
Making it happen with solar vehicles
I’m pretty sure I’d have to be struck by a blinding light, like in the movie Phenomenon, to become brilliant enough to invent such a thing. But in my dreams, that’s exactly how it would happen.
