Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 7 tablespoons lard, cold
- 1 cup buttermilk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Mix well, and sift again. With a pastry blender or fork, cut in lard until coarse crumbs form. Add buttermilk, and mix gently until dough forms and comes together.Turn dough out onto a floured work surface, and roll or pat out to about 3⁄4-inch thickness.
