Recipe for Chocolate Cake

Try this delicious chocolate cake made with canned applesauce and chocolate chips.

Chocolate Applesauce Cake

Ingredients:

• 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
• 1⁄2 cup cooking oil
• 2 eggs
• 2 cups applesauce
• 2 cups flour
• 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 2 tablespoons cocoa
• 1 cup miniature chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease 2 9-inch round cake pans; set aside.

2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except chocolate chips, and mix well.

3. Pour into prepared pans. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

4. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, and return to oven to melt slightly.

5. Cool well. Serve one cake, and freeze the other one.
