There are a lot of things that I look forward to doing during the summer months. One is going to the fair.
The county fair is being held this week where I live in Macon count as well as the neighboring Shelby county. The kids here always seem to enjoy showing their livestock that they’ve raised. They take great pride in that and I proud of them. The kids do a great job.
It’s been a few years since I’ve been to the state fair in Sedalia. I’ve been there twice. Once was during the state fair to a Clint Black concert. Didn’t get there early to see anything else and didn’t get to stay late for the carnival rides. Darn it! I was 15 or 16 at the time so I’d rather not say how long ago that’s been!
I did go back to the fairgrounds in 2015 to the Red Power Roundup, (you can read more about that in my blog post; Red Power isn’t always red). That was a memorable experience, especially getting to ride in the the truck parade in a IH Autowagon.
Anyways, the county fair will soon be over with soon. I will be sad to see it come to a close but anticipate going to it next year. Congrats to all the county fair kid all over the U.S. Keep doing a great job!
