Who doesn’t love bananas? It is said that the average American eats 27 pounds of bananas each year, more than apples and oranges combined. An excellent source of dietary fiber, complex carbohydrates, vitamins and potassium, bananas are also low in calories and contain no sodium, fat or cholesterol.
Bananas are tasty on their own, but sometimes we crave them in sweet treats like cakes, breads, cookies, muffins and such. When prepared this way, the nutrition value lessens, so remember to splurge in moderation.
