When I think of supper salads, I tend to think of salads that feature a variety of ingredients that are filling, including meats. These salads are hearty enough to be served as the main course — a stand-alone dish that needs no sides.

When I’m in the mood to serve salad for supper, there are four main salads that come to mind: Caesar salad, chef salad, Cobb salad, and taco salad. All of them are delicious, all are simple to make, and all are a tasty treat for supper any night of the week.

Following are four recipes from the Capper’s Farmer archives. Give them a try, and if you have a different type of supper salad recipe, send it to us, and we just might feature it in a future issue of the magazine.
