Almond Praline Cheesecake Recipe

This decadent treat features a crunchy topping and sweet almond flavor.

Yield: one 9-inch cheesecake

This recipe originally aired in the November 2005 issue of Heart of the Home.


  • 3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter OR margarine, melted
  • 3 packages (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

Almond Praline Topping

  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted


  1. Heat oven to 300°F.
  2. Combine graham cracker crumbs, almonds, sugar and butter; press firmly on bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Add eggs and almond extract; mix well.
  4. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until center is set. Cool. Top with Almond Praline Topping. Chill. Store leftovers, covered, in refrigerator.

Almond Praline Topping

  1. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar and whipping cream.
  2. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves.
  3. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in almonds.
  5. Spoon evenly over cheesecake.
